Let’s support Electric Cars

I have always supported green stuffs. By green I don’t mean anything green in color but I mean anything that doesn’t make any kind of pollution of any kind and doesn’t degrade the environment and the living things that comprise it.

These days, electric cars are in fashion. People are getting aware of the environmental hazards caused by petrol/diesel engines and they are trying to do whatever possible to make earth worthy to live for our successors. Hence, the advent of electric cars; which of course runs via electricity and doesn’t emit any kind of pollution. But the big question is it people will buy it or not. It’s not that people aren’t buying it; coz they are but there are still many people who like fast cars with all those flashiness that petrol/diesel cars have.

So, the main problem here seems to be awareness which if people are, then they will develop liking towards electric cars and the result will be fresh and unpolluted environment.

A Good Night Sleep for Starters

I still remember those days when I was unemployed and was desperately looking for any kind of job I could get my hands on. I had an MBA degree but still I was willing to do a job even as a driver in a transport company. For days, I was looking for trucking jobs with no experience or CLD jobs over internet. Just imagine how much desperate I was. Not that I was looking to do that for the rest of my life but it’s just that I needed to make some money quickly.

Deep inside though, I knew I had to do something, some kind of business to get my life moving. Soon few friends and I started a company. We were very positive about the company, the business plan was clear and we all were to work on it as if we were not an employer but a staff. We decided on not hire many employees and thought of outsourcing most of the thing that could be.

We needed to market our business, establish a brand in the market. All of us didn’t have much idea about printing and promotion and other stuffs related to marketing and branding. So, that was one of the things that we decided to outsource to another company. As we were searching for a reliable company for the job, we came across PressLink. We actually hadn’t heard of the name but once we saw their portfolio, the company they had worked for; we were just wow !!.. they must be really good. So, we decided to give our marketing and branding jobs like commercial printer, promotional product development, POP/POS etc. to them and in few months period we saw great deal of improvement and we I must say all of us were very impressed with the outcome.

Now, we have grown to a substantial company and we’re still working with PressLink for our marketing and branding. If you are looking for any kind of Printing, Brand Management and Marketing Support you know where to go.

Easiest SEO for your website

So, I am into this internet marketing stuffs. People assume that it’s easy … all you need to do it stay in front of your computer, do stuffs, browse, and make money. Well, it’s a lot and by a lot I mean a LOOOT difficult than what it looks like.

A friend of mine once asked me what is the easiest way to rank your website or page on top in search engines. Actually I had no answer to that. It’s what everybody wants and you search over internet and you find millions of articles written about SEO and internet marketing and stuffs to do to rank your website to top of the search engine. Trust me, I’ve read and tried most of them. From high content creating to, link building to posting in forums, groups, everything and there is no sure shot way of doing so.

If ranking in Search Engine on top is all you want then you can just pay for Google adwords or yahoo ads and get your website on top. Easy as that. It’s not long term but then it works.

Zuckerberg's married status gets 1M likes

One after another Facebook news all over the world. It seems like people have nothing to do except either using Facebook or writing/reading about Facebook. Anyways , right after issuing IPO of Facebook, CEO Mark Zuckerberg got married to his long time girlfriend Priscilla Chan Saturday in a small, surprise wedding. It was a small party and less than 100 guests were there to witness it. Surprisingly Mark didn’t wear a hoodie that day. Hehe

Must say, Mark must be having a great week. From his bday to IPO to now his marriage and later who knows what. Anyways, congrats to Mark and Priscilla in their marriage. Hope they have a wonderful life ahead. Opps sorry !! I missed out on why I actually wrote this post. Zuckerberg's married status gets 1M likes. Well, that’s it. What did you expected? Some news it was huh? Girls must be crying their hearts out.

How to remove duplicate songs in iTunes

I’m sure many of you have faced a similar problem with your iTunes (those who are Apple product users). Unknowingly, there are times when your iTunes has duplicate songs on it and when you sync it with your iPhone or iPod, you will have duplicate songs on them too. This doesn’t seem to be much of a problem but if there are too many duplicate songs then it will consume too much of your hard-drive and iPhone/iPod’s space.

Similarly, another problem you might have faced with your iTunes is what we call the “missing track problem”. This is one of the most common problems I think with iTunes that it isn’t smart enough to delete the list of mp3s itself in they are missing.

If you have similar problems, Tune Sweeper is what you need. It will search for the duplicate songs in your iTunes library according to different criteria such as track names, artist, and album and they will be marked for removal. Then all you need to do is to choose which duplicate file keep or delete and the rest will be done by the software.

About the missing track problem, Tune Sweeper will check the iTunes library and if the track isn’t there in your hard-drive, it will safely remove these tracks and also avoid those 'file missing' errors you sync your iPhone or iPod with iTunes.

So, Tune Sweeper will help you delete duplicates in iTunes and remove missing songs from iTunes too. Cool, isn’t it? Give it a shot and you’ll know for yourself.

Facebook Acquires Instrgram For 1 Billion

Instagram is a smartphone application that allows users to add filters and effects to a picture captured by your phone and share it with your friends. When started it was available for iPhone only but later this month they launched the Android version too. They have reported to have 30 million users since their launch in 2011.

But the question is does that make it worth $1 Billion? Facebook, the largest social networking site is all set to pay $1 billion in cash and shares for Instagram to its developers. Yeah, I know it’s shocking. It came to me as a shock too. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the deal on his Facebook timeline a couple of days back; just months before Facebook is expected to go public.

Instagram is a free app and they have zero revenue till date. All of a sudden they’ve jumped to a $1 Billion mark and that is probably the biggest achievement in the history of any company in such a short interval of time. Even though it has been acquired by Facebook, it plans to let the popular photo app to operate independently from the company.

May be it’s time for Apple and Facebook to unite

Yesterday Google dropped a bomb over Apple and Facebook by unveiling “augmented reality glasses”. This gadget is going to change everything I believe; the way we share, the way we communicate, the way we live. Check out the cool video below that they’ve come up with and you’ll get a hint of what I am talking about.

Even though this is just a prototype video and the real thing might now be as they’ve shown in the video, I am deeply concerned about my personal fav Apple and Facebook. I am not sure how they are going to cope with this brutal attack. Who is going to buy Apple iPhones and iPods when people can don’t even need to press anything to make a call or listen to music. Plus with these glasses you can share your location, find maps, chat, write your status and who knows what more it can do. Facebook will be swiped out.

So, maybe it’s time for both Apple and Facebook to put their ego aside and work together to counter this attack. Probably then they have some chances against the big daddy.

Convert your VGA cord into CAT5 cable

Something hardware related after a long time readers. This is going to be a little technical and let me tell you something; you got to try at your home. I’ve done this myself and it has worked 5 out of 6 times. So, we all know how much difficult it is to find a long VGA cord and even if you do find it, it is going to be pretty expensive. This is the problem which personally I faced when I was looking for a little longer VGA cable and I couldn’t find any and as I was Googling over the internet I came across a post where they had written a post of making a VGA cord out of CAT5 cable. I gave it a shot and it worked and then I was like; I have to write about it for my readers. A friend of mine was asking me if similar can be done and HDMI cable can be made because he needed something like 50 foot HDMI cable. I am not sure about that though.

I’m not saying it is easy though but I’ve uploaded the picture too so that it will be a little easier for your understanding.

STEP 1: Strip the CAT5 cable. Strip about half inches of the CAT5 outer insulation. Don’t strip too long; that would risk being short circuit. Well, that’s what was written in the instructions. So, then you have 8 colored wires.

STEP 2: Now you have to solder the colored wires to the VGA connector. Wait!! Did I mention that you need to buy a VGA connector and of course you need soldering stuffs too? The best connectors are male ones (again it was mentioned in the instruction and I don’t have a clue about it). So, solder it as in the image shown below. I don’t think it should be that hard.

STEP 3: Do the same thing (STEP 1 to STEP 2) in the other side too and it’s done. But just to make it all look tidy a little bit, what you can do is get some VGA connector housings and cover it up. Now you can check if it works. If it doesn’t there must be something wrong with the wiring. Re-check it and try again.

Is Facebook Taking Over Our Lives?

Guess what is the first thing I do after I wake up? It not that surprising thing but I log into my Facebook account and change my status. I write something that comes to my mind first and then publish it. I know it’s just a waste of time to be happy at when someone comments on your status or post but that’s what millions of people are doing these days.

Facebook and other similar social networking sites are taking over out lives. We don’t spend that much time in our office as we spend the time on Facebook. Status, Daily horoscope, Quiz, Tagging pictures, uploading funny videos and then commenting and re-commenting have become like a part of our daily lives. Ask who else but me. If I don’t check my Facebook in interval of certain period of time, I feel something missing and I feel restless. I am not punctual at doing my office work or getting to my college but I am punctual at doing work in Farmville and Café world. I am sure millions of people are too. I know it’s crazy but it’s somehow addictive. I rarely go out these days with friends because I have less time and lots of social games to play. Still I don’t miss a thing what is happening around me and my friends as Facebook keeps me informed about everything. So, the question is; Is Facebook taking over our lives? Yes, I will say but in a good way. There are negative aspects but every coin has two sides, doesn’t it?

Http Torrents

I am sure everybody use torrent. For those who don’t know what torrent is; simply it’s the most popular way of downloading big sized files, even movies and games. All those who use torrent, they know that they need to install a BitTorrent client applications to download thru torrent. And they also have to go thru different hassles like firewall problem, seeder leaving you, etc.

Well I just stumbeled into a site HttpTorrents.com which actually is an online torrent application that doesn’t require installation on your system at all. Wow yeah? I thought so too. It turns the torrent file that you need into an easy downloadable http-link and you get:

  • Guaranteed fast speed
  • Guaranteed 100% download

And you don’t have to worry about:

  • Uploading
  • Blocking
  • Ratings
  • Waiting

A slight problem though. I tried using it many time; the first or which is entering the torrent hash into the search field but I don't seem to get any result. It seems there are not much files or options there to download. The concept is pretty unique but not sure if it's going to work. Also you have to pay the sum of $9.90 for the single month. Only then you'll get a premium account. I am not still sure how to use it and whether we can pause the download and resume it later (I am sure we can as it's a torrent application even though it's online). Still if it were free, then it would have been better. hehe

Rumours of Facebook Ending on March 15th

I am a big time user and a fan of Facebook, a social networking site that has changed the way we use internet and why we use internet. Mark Zukerber, the founder of Facebook has been named the "The Person Of The Year 2010" by The Times magazine. Some people have even started comparing Facebook with Google. Nobody had ever thought that there would be something bigger than Google in the internet business for next hundreds of years. But Facebook somehow has proved everybody wrong.

Due to this sudden growing popularity Facebook has become enemy of many. People and big organizations have become jealous of its success and are constanty trying to figure out ways to get rid of it. And lately, there was this new published in WeeklyWorldNews.com stating that Facebook with shut down in March 15th 2011. It stated that Mark is very much in pressure and depression and he wants his old life back and hence he's shutting down Facebook for good. You know ofcourse this is a silly hoax new. C'mon why would anyone just suddenly shut down and multi-billion dollar website? I mean he'd probably sell it to Microsoft, Yahoo or Google rather than that and make loads of money instead, won't he?

This rumor spread like a fire across the world. WeeklyWorldNews got lots of publicity, which might be what it wanted but recently Larry Yu, Facebook’s Director of Corporate Communications gave a statement that “the answer is no, so please help us put an end to this silliness.”

So, guys cheer up!! Facebook's not going anywhere. There's still a long way to go. Lets keep Facebooking.

Cool iPhone type lock for your UIQ mobile

I bought a Sony Ericsson W960i few weeks back. It’s a cool touch screen walkman phone with 8Gb hard-drive, 3.2 mp camera and all the feature I could have ever dreamt of. But one thing I wanted on it was a lock system just like in iPhones. You must have seen those sliding iPhone locks. They’re really fascinating. Well, my phone is touch too so I thought there has to be a way or some software that can install the iPhone like sliding lock feature to my mobile.

And thank God there was too. iLock (iPhone Lock) is a software for UIQ mobile written in Java that locks your phone in a similar way like the iPhone. But actually it’s not a lock at all. It just acts as a full screen java program, so the phone picks up all the letters and numbers you type as input in to the java program. Since the program only allows the user to slide across the screen to unlock, you get the illusion that it actually locked your phone.

So, if you too want this cool iPhone type lock for your UIQ mobile then you can get it for free here.

Head Mounted Display is Utilized for Many Purposes

A head mounted display, or helmet mounted display as it is sometimes called, is a device that is worn by the user on the head or it may be used as part of a helmet. It may have one or two small display optics, such as a tiny LCD screen that is worn like goggles. Usually an HMD is equipped with earphones for sound (often 3D) and position tracking sensors.

Head mounted display technology is available in different formats. Some are compact and simplistic in their design, while others can be rather intricate pieces of equipment. The type that is required by the user depends on the purpose for which the device is needed.

The following are some brief examples of where HMDs may be utilized:

  • Aviation – The mechanism may be integrated into a helicopter’s or plane’s design and may be used to provide night vision, as a protective visor, etc.
  • Military and law enforcement - used for similar purposes as in aviation but for many other functions as well.
  • Scientists and Engineers – Head mounted displays are used when conducting various experiments to see the many sides of complex systems, and during complex operations.
  • Gamers – often utilized to create a virtual reality environment.

As you can see, the head mounted display is highly functional and benefits many different operations, helping to advance job performance, aiding in research, and even provides personal entertainment.

ReclaiMe–Data Recovery Software

Many times it happens that you mistakenly shift delete your files and folders. Now, if you had just pressed the delete button, then you could have easily recovered the file or folder from the recycle bin but then in this case you can’t. Similar is in the case of formatted hard drive. You can’t recover your important files from the formatted hard drive too (which you need to do sometime when your operation system crashes or also when you have virus in your computer).

What you need is a strong data recovery software that can recover data from your computer in any occasion. By any occasion I meant, for deleted file, formatted hard drives, memory cards, any types of file system (FAT, NTFS), etc. You may think it’s impossible but it’s not. All you need is ReclaiMe data recovery software and you’re problems are puff - gone. Using ReclaiMe, you can undelete files, unformat hard drives/USB, recover memory cards/mobile phones/PDAs and also recover raw file system drive (FAT/ exFAT/ NTFS doesn’t matter). This software need Windows platform to run but then it can if you attach a Mac storage device to a Windows system, ReclaiMe also recovers data from HFS (Mac OS Standard), HFS+ (Mac OS Extended), and UFS filesystems also used by Apple Mac OS X and Apple iPod players.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab a copy of this software now. It’s really handy if you’re not a typewriter user.

New Photo Effect Everyday

Funny PicturesFunny Pictures
These days’ photo effects are very much in fashion. You must have seen people or your own friends posting their pictures with different effects (like their pics on some superstar’s t-shirt, as a tattoo in some girl’s body, in the billboard, a funny photo, etc.) in Hi5 or Facebook or Myspace or some other social networking sites. When first time I saw a friend of mine do these kinds of stuffs and posting in Facebook, I thought it was probably a Photoshop effect and also thought he’s really good with the effect. But then gradually everyone started doing it and then my mind started thinking how? Every one of these can’t be doing this using Photoshop.
Funny Pictures
Later, I found out that there are sites where you just need to upload your pictures and then leave the effect work to them. Just a click and you’ve the effect you want. PicJoke.com is one of such sites where you can just upload your photo and make different amazing effects or create photo funny with just a single click. You can choose the effect you want to have in your picture from their archive list. If you’re bored with the effects do visit the site next day also because they keep creating new effects everyday. So, next time you want to make your or your friends’ photo funny; you know where to go.

VoIP Service Helps You Go Crazy For

All and sundry like to have pockets full with money but is it possible if you use the traditional landline phones? No, it’s not! But it may be possible with one technology that is called VoIP. Yes, that’s true. With VoIP, one can save huge money on calling in local areas to international calls. This technology has been becoming a hot favorite of every businessman and common people due to cost saving and other attractive features. You just need a Internet connection to make waves on.

VoIP service function is just like email does functioning. There are many VoIP providers who are laced with limitless long distance calls with lower charges per month and a minute. The comparison is very vivid that a long distance call on conventional phone costs you much higher whereas the same call using VoIP phone results in very low charge.

VoIP is very safely being called the future of technology and calling. The VoIP has now been improved a lot. The providers have fastened the belts to offer attractive features to the customers but all this on very cheap rates.

Due to the heavy competition, the charges and services are being enhanced. With the below mentioned points, everyone would love to adopt VoIP:

Mammoth amount of saving comes in your pocket with the use of VoIP service. While keeping your existing phone number and making long distance calls, you still are able to save dollars. Doesn’t it entice? Ofcourse it does! With VoIP, you would not be having any strapping bills and surcharges etc on the bills come every month. Like the e-mail works flashingly, VoIP does in the same manner. One can coalesces the Internet with phone service in a monthly bill with low charges but it depends on the VoIP service company.

Since VoIP has spread like jungle’s fire everywhere and everyone knows about it, it is now easily and readily available. Those who have not converted to voice over protocol phones still they have the opportunity to do so. A user who places many calls to a specific area, then select a number from that location. Now when your pals and dears call you, it will cost on a local rate.

When you buy a VoIP, many options come with it like the ones you know and some newer to attract you. You may attend the calls on your computer during making a journey and a voicemail option can enable you to check it also. The extra features of a VoIP are that you can combine it with the PC, cellular and other gadgets. If sometimes one likes not to have any contact, VoIP service makes it possible also. Almost with every VoIP phone, the features like caller identification, call waiting, call forwarding, etc are included. There are the options like call blocking, putting ‘away’ message and showing ‘do not disturb’ available on the VoIP. This phone lets you enjoy with more features such as 3-way calling, unique rings, speed dialing and to name a few. There are some companies, which allow you to make directory and call to 911 emergency service.

It’s really cost saving for both business and residential users. Prior to making a decision, make some study about the product and the companies that offer this service. Don’t get yourself glued into a long contract. Check features and company’s worth then finalize one.

N97 Out In Wild

Nokia has released N97 out in stores. Well, actually they are available in Europe and Asia only for now but will soon be available worldwide. It’s been a long since Nokia has released a touch-screen mobile phone so I hope it works for Nokia. Anyways, Nokia has stated that it’s the world’s most advanced mobile computer, which will transform the way people connect to the Internet and to each other. With QWERTY keypad, 5 mp camera, touch-screen display, 16:9 widescreen display, DVD quality video capture, continuous playback time of up to 1.5 days, supports of up to 48 GB of storage, including 32 GB of on-board memory, expandable with a 16 GB microSD card for music, media and more and the big price tag of €550 ($695), Nokia released this new flagship on Dec 2,2008. The drawback though pointed out by the experts from Gizmodo is about the resistive touchscreen which were immediately noticeable when dragging widgets around the desktop.

A resistive touchscreen relies on pressing two layers of screen together with a fingernail or stylus to register a signal, so it is not as responsive as a capacitive screen which is driven by the natural electricity in your fingers. - Gizmodo
Anyways, my good luck is with Nokia N97 but it would have worked it the price was a little less around $400.
