It was a long time back I checked http://www.broadband-expert.co.uk/; just didn’t had time as I’m very busy with my MBA these days. I was going thru the post and there I stumbled upon quite an expected post. It was about “Pay as You Go mobile broadband overtakes contract deals”. Broadband-Expert.co.uk is one of the most leading broadband, unlimited mobile broadband, smart phone comparison site and from their figure of last year in October 2009, they have stated that consumers prefer Pay as You Go mobile broadband to contract mobile broadband these days.
“The comparison site reports that 53% of mobile broadband customers during the month opted for Pay as You Go deals compared to 47% who have taken contract deals.” - Broadband-Expert.co.uk
We can assume from these figures that people these days are being attracted toward pay as you go mobile broadband services as here you pay for what you do only – no pre-charges or anything as such is paid. A same kind of trend has been witnessed at T-Mobile, where the company stated that in the 3rd quarter of 2009, they saw a stabilization of the contract mobile broadband market as customers increasingly moved to the flexibility of pay-per-day tariffs compared to lengthy contracts. Prepay mobile broadband sales have now accounted for 20% of the market and have been growing at 10% a month for the last three months seeing as you can compare mobile broadband packages offered.
Contract deals or prepaids are still an idle choice for gifting purpose but then you are bounded be contrats for lengthy period and people by nature love freedom.
