WordPress is one of the most popular platforms for weblogs but how many of you know that you can even make a website in WordPress. Just few tweaks here and there and you can easily create a website using WordPress. I’ll sketch a rough outline of how to create a website using WordPress. I’m sure you can find other details as much as you like over the internet. But there are few of the basics steps you need to follow:
- First thing you need to do is register a domain name. You can start with a subdomain like xyz.wordpress.com but it’s not a good option I’d say.
- Buy a webhosting account. I’d suggest shared inexpensive web hosting but one with Fantastico script installed. That way it’d be just a one click job to install WordPress in your hosting.
- Install WordPress using Fantastico or if you want to do it manually then check out http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress.
- Login in to WordPress admin panal; for your website you need to visit http://yourdomainname/wp-admin and login with your username and password you set up in the beginning while installing WordPress.
- Just add one post to the homepage. For the menu bars, add pages and don’t forget to delete the comments from the theme editor to give it a website look.
And that’s it. Go and give it a shot.
