WordPress is one of the most popular platforms for weblogs but how many of you know that you can even make a website in WordPress. Just few tweaks here and there and you can easily create a website using WordPress. I’ll sketch a rough outline of how to create a website using WordPress. 1. First thing you need to do is register a domain name. You can start with a subdomain like xyz.wordpress.com but it’s not a good option I’d say.
2. Buy a webhosting account. I’d suggest shared inexpensive web hosting but one with Fantastico script installed. That way it’d be just a one click job to install WordPress in your hosting.
3. Install WordPress using Fantastico or if you want to do it manually then check out http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress.
4. Login in to WordPress admin panal; for your website you need to visit http://yourdomainname/wp-admin and login with your username and password you set up in the beginning while installing WordPress.
5. Just add one post to the homepage. For the menu bars, add pages and don’t forget to delete the comments from the theme editor to give it a website look.
