Celebrate National Cybersecurity Awareness Month This October

I’ve been a webmaster for few years now but how did I missed out on this one? Lately, I’m missing too much tech news because of my concentration on finance stuffs. Anyways leaving everything aside, October is a national cyber security awareness month and we got to celebrate it. How? The only right way would be by creating awareness and spreading information about this increasingly important issue.

Security over internet has been a very hot and global topic. Internet has become a core part of any organisation as well a person. Our lives are becoming more and more dependent over internet and internet related technologies. If you ask anybody now, 9 out ot 10 will say that live without internet is going to be very difficult. And this is because internet is moving. Before it was just limited to computer but then it moved to mobiles phones, tablets, game consoles and consumer electronics. With the power of internet and its technology you can just stay in one place and control thing in the places which will take your days to just reach and months to do.

Internet can be a big strength for an organization. But at the same time it can also be your weakness as they are vulnerable to threats in different ways. You hear all those news about internet content security, hackers and cracker trying to breach in and leaking of information from companies. So, general people and not just IT guys got to understand that whenever they are using internet related technologies they are susceptible to risks and that is why they have to be aware of what they are doing. That’s why , people from NCSAM (National Cyber Security Awareness Month) have come up with the slogan “STOP. THINK. CONNECT.”, which basically are the steps you should take when using the internet to always make sure you stay secure. So, spread the information with your friends. Like it, buzz it, +1 it, share it!
