Facebook has grown immensely since it's launch in 2004. Mark Zuckerberg founded the company as a student at Harvard University.Since then Face book has exploded into a 57million user platform.This is mostly since expanding by allowing user's to register 13 and over. Before this Facebook was restricted to just college students. Soon after Facebook inadvertently spawned a new way of earning money online.

One of the ways to earn money online is through what is known as facebook apps. Facebook apps are where developers can utilise the facebook framework and create applications that can interact with facebook.
Facebook apps were launched on May 24th,2007. Currently there is approximately 5000 apps available today and the top app has a base of 2.8million users. Making money via this method is restricted if your not proficient in programming languages.

There are features which enhance the experience of facebook. For example,there is the Wall and Gifts. The wall allows friends to see posted messages on a profile page. These messages are sent in a news feed to those subscribed.Gifts are icons available from a virtual giftshop and are sent to a recipient and displayed on the wall.
