Creating a desktop shortcut for locking your computer

If you want you computer to be safe from other and if you don’t want other to see or modify your files, locking your desktop when you leave the computer is an essential task. Here's a way to create a desktop shortcut that will lock your computer in an easy clicks. I have already told you the recipe to create a shortcut. This process is also similar.

Just right click on an empty area of the desktop and choose 'new' then 'shortcut.' The create shortcut wizard will open. In the first text box (type the location of the item), type '%windir%\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation' without quotes and then give your shortcut an appropriate name and click 'finish' button.

You will notice that the shortcut you created has a blank icon by default. You can change the icon to any that you feel comfortable with.

Now, you got a shortcut for locking your computer. Just click it and your computer will be locked.
