Windows has one of the strongest security systems and one can break into it unless you have the right username with right password. But sometime users tend to forget their password. While keeping focus in the complexity of the password, they keep their password so strong and complex that it’s hard to remember even by them. So, what should be done in such case? Answer is nothing can be done, actually. But, if you have another username with administrative privilege and you know the password of that username, then the solution is easy. Login with the username with administrative privilege and follow this procedure.
1. Start -> run
2. Type ‘lusrmgr.msc’ (without quotes) and enter
3. Double click ‘Local Users and Groups(Local)’
4. Select ‘Users’
5. In the right pane right click the username whose password you want to reset
6. Select ‘set Password’
7. It will give a warning, read it carefully and click ‘Proceed’
8. Enter and verify new password and click ‘OK’
9. A message will appear that your password has been changed
10. Now logoff and login with the username whose password you have just changed
