Backing up data

The most important part of using a computer is for the purpose of information. Information is processed data. We feed data in the computer and after processing the data the computer gives out the output in the form of information. Some data is very valuable and needed for making decisions. So, they need to be backed up for future reference in case something happens to the original data.

Back up can be done in several ways. There is no specific way of backing up your data. Some back up their data just by copying their data in some other hard drive or CDs/DVDs. This is also a kind of backing up your data but using this way you can’t back up your system state data. So, for the ease of the users Windows OS has got its own back up application called ‘Backup Utility’ which allows you to backup your programs, files, system state or even restore data from backup. To use the application click start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Backup. Another way you can run this utility is through run command ‘ntbackup’. Just go to ‘run’, type ‘ntbackup’ (without quotes) and enter. The application starts and provides you with different functions that you can choose according to your ease and necessity. It’s a small application and handy application and I hope that user use this application to back up their data.
